Headline Japan Co., Ltd., together with Kyoto City and Kyoto Prefecture, has organized the IVS KYOTO Executive Committee and has held IVS in Kyoto for four consecutive years since 2023.
We have recently discovered that due to unauthorized access by a third party to "Studio," a web design service used for the official IVS2025 website (hereinafter referred to as "the Site") operated by our company, there is a possibility that form responses submitted through the Site may have been leaked. We deeply apologize for the great concern and inconvenience this has caused to all parties involved.
Background
On October 16, 2026, Studio Inc. announced that its cloud environment had been subjected to unauthorized access by a third party (from September 30 to October 1, 2026), and that form submission data of all customers may have been leaked externally.
The Site was built by our company using Studio Inc.'s tool, and we had retained form responses for the planning and operation of the event; however, it is possible that these form responses were also leaked this time.
Please note that the vulnerability in the tool has already been resolved by Studio Inc., and the route used for unauthorized access has been blocked. Furthermore, at this time, no unauthorized use or secondary damage has been confirmed.
Impact
All form responses on the Site (a total of approximately 4,200 submissions, including name, email address, company name, job title, etc.) may be affected.
Please note that the official IVS2026 website uses a different service and is not affected by this incident.
Response
Reporting to the Personal Information Protection Commission will be conducted jointly by Studio Inc., including this incident. Additionally, as there is a risk that malicious emails such as phishing scams related to this incident may be sent, our company will individually contact everyone whose information may have been leaked. If you receive any suspicious emails, please take care not to open any links or attachments contained within them.
We take this incident very seriously and will further strengthen our information management framework regarding the use of external services to prevent recurrence.
