What are SIDE EVENTS?
This is a group of events held concurrently with IVS. Not only on the days before and after IVS,
but various organizing groups will hold events mainly during the evenings (and some in the mornings and afternoons) of the main period.
What are OFFICIAL SIDE EVENTS?
Among the hundreds of side events held, those evaluated and officially certified by IVS are called "Official Side Events." These are "Official Content" designed to complement and deepen themes and challenges that IVS2026 cannot fully cover, thereby expanding the ecosystem. They are positioned as a platform to connect the value of participants' communities with the gathering power of IVS, creating new encounters and co-creation.
Each event is different, including paid, free, invitation-only, pre-registration required, and open events. Please be sure to check the details before participating.
Not all side events are hosted by IVS. In addition, "Official Side Events" are those we support, but the organizers of each event are responsible for hosting and managing them. Therefore, please direct any inquiries to the respective event organizers.

Participants have various goals. What is important is to treat each other with respect, including those you are meeting for the first time. Regardless of status or wealth, we believe that disrespectful behavior should be avoided. Let's create new opportunities with kindness and respect.
We highly emphasize the Code of Conduct within the IVS KYOTO Participation Terms. Any nuisance behavior, soliciting for specific religions, election campaigning, discriminatory remarks, slander, invasion of privacy, actions violating laws or public order and morals, smoking outside designated smoking areas, and excessive sales pitches or business soliciting are strictly prohibited. Violators may be asked to leave the venue.
Furthermore, if you do not follow the instructions of our staff, you will be asked to leave immediately, even during the event, regardless of the reason. Decisions will be made on-site to ensure the safety and operational balance of such a large-scale event. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
Additionally, IVS has established "Terms of Participation" that apply to all attendees. Please make sure to review them as well.
In accordance with Japanese law, drinking alcohol under the age of 20 is strictly prohibited. Age verification will be conducted at the lounge counter where alcoholic beverages are served. Encouraging underaged drinking is also prohibited. Although side events are not hosted by us, we ask that all side event organizers and participants also comply with these laws and regulations.
We strive to ensure that everyone can participate with peace of mind. We also plan to set up a consultation desk in case you run into any trouble. For more details, please see the IVS Anti-Harassment Policy.
