Japan's largest startup conference, "IVS2026" (Dates: July 1u20133, 2026 / Venues: Miyako Messe Kyoto, Rohm Theatre Kyoto, Hotel Okura Kyoto), will hold "CROSS TIDE," an intensive program to delve deeper into the ideal relationship between operating companies, CVCs (corporate venture capitals), and startups, on its first day, July 1 (DAY1), in the South Hall of Rohm Theatre Kyoto.
What is CROSS TIDE?
"CROSS TIDE" is a program within IVS2026 designed to explore the "ideal relationship between startups, CVCs, and large corporations" for the purpose of fostering new businesses within operating companies and creating new industries. From unlocking corporate assets through methods like M&A, spin-outs, and carve-outs, to the strategic utilization of large corporations and CVCs from the startup perspective, the program will facilitate discussions on both capital and business fronts.
This program consists of three session programs held in the South Hall on DAY1 (July 1) of IVS, along with a networking party. The session programs are open to anyone holding an IVS pass.
For the execution of this initiative, we are fully collaborating with "CVC VS CVC," which has garnered attention as a network of large corporate CVCs. Furthermore, several organizations, including FIRST CVC, are participating in this event hosted within IVS2026.
An invitation-only networking party will also be held on the same night
In addition, on the evening of the same day, an invitation-only networking party linked to this program will be held at Kyoto Modern Terrace. This event will provide a venue for key figures from operating companies, CVCs, and startups to connect deeply with one another, using their respective challenges as starting points.

Overview of IVS2026
IVS is one of Japan's largest startup conferences, which began in 2007. Bringing together domestic and international startups, investors, large corporations, and creators, it will be held in Kyoto in 2026 under the theme "Japan is Back."
This year, we have newly established two areas: the "IVS" area (Kyoto International Exhibition Hall "Miyako Messe" and "Rohm Theatre Kyoto"), which is the culmination and evolution of IVS2023, IVS2024, and IVS205 held in Kyoto; and "IVS CORE" (Hotel Okura Kyoto), a modern, invitation-only area.
[IVS ("Miyako Messe" and "Rohm Theatre Kyoto")]
Open to startup personnel, operating companies, investors, aspiring entrepreneurs, supporters, government, research institutions, and students. This area is open to anyone creating the next generation. It will feature stage sessions, the "Startup Market" exhibition, and IVS's signature pitch event, "IVS LAUNCHPAD."
[IVS CORE (Hotel Okura Kyoto)] *New, Invitation-only
A strictly invitation-only area reserved exclusively for decision-makers, such as startup executive officers, institutional investors, corporate executives, and government/policy officials. It provides a venue where concrete decisions are made, including completely off-the-record sessions, executive power matching, and M&A matching.
An access pass is required to participate in IVS2026. There are two types of passes: the "IVS PASS" for the IVS area, and the invitation-only "CORE PASS" for the IVS CORE area. The CORE PASS is subject to screening and can only be purchased by invitees.
