Invitation to Apply for IVS2026 Planning Staff (Deadline: May 1)

About This Recruitment

There are three positions available. All will be hired as Director roles.

• The IVS2026 organizing team is composed of function-based Teams.

• Each Team has a three-tier structure of Head (Leader) ― Director ― Member, and the council made up of Heads is the highest decision-making body.

• The Director is the role responsible for overseeing everything from planning to team operations. (See the IVS2026 organizational structure here)

1. Networking Planning Director

Mission

Lead the creation of experiences that organically connect participants across multiple networking areas at the IVS venue, from planning and design through on-site execution.

Main Responsibilities

• Planning, designing, and executing networking initiatives

• Recruiting team members and forming teams for each area

• Tracking progress and sharing information with area leads

• Overseeing on-site operations and directing the venue on the day of the event

Required Qualifications (Must)

✅ Experience planning events, community activities, services, or similar initiatives

✅ Comfortable communicating asynchronously via Slack, Notion, and similar tools

✅ Someone who resonates with IVS’s mission and community

Preferred Qualifications (Want)

• Experience participating in IVS

• Expertise or knowledge related to networking and community design

2. International VIP Coordination Director

Mission

Provide seamless hospitality to VIP participants visiting from overseas, from pre-arrival guidance to on-site support, and create an IVS experience that makes them want to come again.

Main Responsibilities

• Understand the needs of overseas VIP guests and plan content accordingly

  • Examples include inbound tourism tours and special on-site hospitality

• Communicate with overseas VIP guests before and during the event

• On-site guest support during the event (language used: English)

Required Qualifications (Must)

✅ Business-level English proficiency or higher (comfortable switching between formal and casual styles)

✅ Comfortable communicating asynchronously via Slack, Notion, and similar tools

✅ Someone who resonates with IVS’s mission and community

Preferred Qualifications (Want)

• Experience participating in IVS

• Connections or a network with overseas startups, VCs, and investors

• Operational or hospitality experience at global events, international conferences, exhibitions, or international sports competitions

3. Guest Connector Director

Mission

At IVS CORE, held from July 1 to July 2, proactively design and create opportunities for VIP participants to meet one another. Leverage a broad network in the startup industry to maximize the value of participants’ connections.

Main Responsibilities

• Designing and executing matching and introductions between VIP participants

• Understanding participants’ interests and needs, and making the best possible introductions

• Actively engaging in networking sessions and energizing the venue

• Sharing feedback with the team and suggesting improvements

Required Qualifications (Must)

✅ Wide familiarity across the startup, VC, and corporate innovation sectors

✅ Knowledgeable about the major players in the startup industry

✅ Someone who resonates with IVS’s mission and community

Preferred Qualifications (Want)

• Multiple experiences attending IVS or similar startup conferences

• Work experience in the startup industry, community operations, or research

• Knowledge of trends and key players in the startup industries in Japan and abroad

Work and Contract Conditions

• Activity period: From after the contract is signed until the close of IVS2026 (July 3)

• Working hours, compensation, and subcontracting conditions: discussed individually after hiring
